Last weekend we went to The Denver Botanic Gardens. The moisture this season has made me feel like I have been transported back home to Virginia. The peonies were hardy and beautiful, the poppies were spunky and the irises just like my grandmother’s. It made me really homesick but it also inspired me to work even harder on our garden.

Oh, my! There is so much to see at the Botanic Gardens! In the beginning I was looking at every single thing…and then I think I got over-stimulated. Plus, I was slowly becoming crippled by my cute new shoes.

These were my feet in the beginning: happy, excited and optimistic.

And then the shoes had to be unbuckled in an attempt to save my feet..

In the end I was gimping my way (with an exaggerated limp that was actually REAL) through the gardens, regretting my decision to break in my shoes on that day. The poor flowers that were ignored because of the state of agony I was in!

But….all in all…the flowers were incredible and I wish the botanic gardens were my back yard. Yeehaw!

After I had changed into a different pair of shoes that I had wisely brought along with me, we headed over to the raved about restaurant, The Watercourse. You see, The Watercourse has the same owners as my most favorite restaurant ever, City, O’ City. Both are vegetarian restaraunts. Well, I have decided that The Watercourse if overrated. I give it 2 stars out of 5…and only because they have cool art with creepy animals. The atmosphere is cold and annoying, the waitstaff rude and too cool for their own good, and the food bland and overpriced. Both Evan and I ordered simple tofu platters…and bleh is all I have to say. But, I do feel motivated to rave about City, O’City. If you are ever on Capital Hill, head on over there.

City, O’ City is the cutest and coziest place ever! Their art is always rotating and slightly creepy. Their menu is wonderful, flavorful and well priced…plus they have lots of gluten-free options. Their wait staff has always been super sweet and hip (you know, the kind of hip that is cute and arrogant-free). I just love it there! So head on over and don’t ever go to The Watercourse!
